Beloved singer Bedros Kirkorov, father of Philip Kirkorov, leaves behind a legacy of music and warmth.

The world of music has lost one of its brightest stars. Bedros Kirkorov, the iconic Bulgarian-Soviet-Russian singer and father of pop sensation Philip Kirkorov, passed away on March 18 at the age of 92. His son, Philip, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, writing, "Today, at 15:37, my father, the People's Artist of Russia, Bedros Kirkorov, left us. But he will never leave our hearts. Cherish every moment with your loved ones."

Bedros Kirkorov's life was a symphony of talent, resilience, and love. Born in Varna, Bulgaria, in 1932, he rose from humble beginnings to become a celebrated figure in the Soviet and Russian music scenes. His voice, often compared to a golden trumpet, resonated across generations, earning him a place in the hearts of millions.

A Life of Music and Legacy

Bedros Kirkorov's journey was anything but ordinary. From his early days singing in an Armenian choir to his breakthrough in the Soviet Union, he carved a path that inspired countless artists. His collaboration with legendary composers like Arno Babajanyan and performances with orchestras led by Yuri Silantyev and Leonid Utesov cemented his status as a musical icon. His rendition of "Alyosha," a song dedicated to Soviet soldiers, became an anthem of friendship between Bulgaria and the USSR.

Despite health challenges in his later years, including battles with COVID-19 and heart disease, Bedros remained a beacon of optimism. His son, Philip, often spoke of his father's unwavering kindness and the profound influence he had on his own career. "He was not just my father; he was a father figure to many in the industry," Philip once said.

A Family Man

Beyond the stage, Bedros Kirkorov was a devoted family man. He shared a close bond with his grandchildren, Alla-Victoria and Martin, who adored their grandfather. His warmth and generosity extended beyond his family, as he dedicated much of his life to charitable causes, including concerts for war veterans and the erection of monuments honoring historical figures.

Bedros Kirkorov's funeral will be held at Moscow's Troekurovskoye Cemetery, where friends, family, and fans will gather to bid farewell to a man whose voice and spirit touched so many. As the curtain falls on his remarkable life, his music and legacy will continue to echo, a testament to a life well-lived.
