Vladimir Matveev was well-known to theater enthusiasts in St. Petersburg, having performed in the Andrei Mironov Theater, the Comedy Shelter, and the Youth Theater on Fontanka. He also had a prolific career in film, with 115 roles to his credit. He is best remembered for his memorable performances in "Elki" as well as the television series "Morris Devils", "Mentovskie Voyny", "Agent osobogo naznacheniya", "Bands of Petersburg", "Streets of Broken Lanterns", "Uboinaya Sila", and "Tayny sledstviya". One of his most recent projects was the series "Mosgaz".
