She said, "I like that people don't know my business. I just fundamentally believe that they don't need to. The side of me that's out there that I want people to see is in the work."
However, Ronan also admits that not having a social media presence has affected her career in some ways. She acknowledges that the younger generation feels pressure to maintain a strong online presence. She recalled instances where her lack of Twitter followers hindered her chances in auditions. Despite this, she remains firm in her decision to prioritize privacy over social media popularity.
She explains, "It doesn't make sense to me why I would share my personal life with people I don't know." Ronan feels fortunate that she managed to overcome the pressure of social media early on in her career. She believes that focusing on her craft and making a name for herself without relying on online validation has been beneficial.
For Ronan, it's more important to stay true to herself and pursue projects that align with her values. She concluded, "Okay, well, I don't want to be in a movie like that, anyway." Despite the challenges she has faced, Ronan's talent and dedication have propelled her to the top of the industry.
