The event included a toast to the cast of Emilia Pérez, a film by French director Jacques Audiard. ELLE's Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia highlighted the Women in Hollywood cover stars: Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Zoe Saldaña, along with Adriana Paz. The trio stars in the movie, portraying powerful characters in a story about a woman named Emilia who transitions into living as a woman after leading a cartel. Gomez plays Emilia's former wife in the film.
During an interview with ELLE, Gomez revealed that she formed a strong bond with her co-stars while filming. She expressed gratitude for the sisterhood they developed on set, which continues to support her. Gomez admitted that this film has been a significant step in her career and has made her realize how far she has come since her early days with Disney.
Reflecting on this milestone, Gomez shared, "Being in this moment with these women, discussing a movie that is important, moving, and beautiful, has been a wow moment for me. I never expected all of this. I am extremely grateful for this time in my life. Every day, I wake up and wonder how I got to do all of this."
